ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NAMIBIA
Foreign nationals must be in possession of a valid passport to visit Namibia. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of intended departure from Namibia. Temporary residence permits for visitors are issued on arrival and allow tourists a period of 90 days per year in the country.
Bona-fide tourists and business travellers of the following countries are exempted from visa requirements: Angola, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Mozambique, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Zimbabwe.

CURRENCY FOR NAMIBIA
The unit of currency in Namibia is the Namibian Dollar (N$) which is fixed to the South African Rand.
Visa and Master credit cards are widely accepted in shops and banks.

VALUE-ADDED TAX (VAT)
Namibia VAT is 15% on all goods and services.
For Namibia and South Africa you will need a Type M Large travel plug adapter (220/ 240 volts). We recommend bringing a power inverter that plugs into a cigarette lighter to invert 12V DC to 110V AC power for recharging in the Safari vehicle.
MEDICATION AND HEALTH MATTERS
Health services in Namibia compare favourable with those of other developing countries. International SOS Medical and Emergency Services can airlift clients to Windhoek were advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services are available.
Even though we are not a high risk malaria area it is advisable to consult your personal physician or health care provider before leaving home to determine if you require any immunizations or medications prior to arriving in Namibia.
Please note: Namibia is a Ebola free country.
As the air can be very dry, it is advisable to drink plenty of liquids. Dehydration medication is always advisable. A small First Aid kit with basic medication could be helpful while away from home. The heavy intensive UV-rays can result in quick sunburn. Please take all necessary precautions (sun block SPF 30, after sun lotion, hats, sunglasses, lip balm etc.)
Contact your insurer regarding health / travel insurance plus medical evacuation, ensure your health insurance covers you while you are overseas. You will need a phone number to contact your health insurer, not a 1-800 phone number which won't work from Namibia.
